Ish has already set forth an accurate statement of our reaction here at Mininerd to the Great Shellacking of October 3, so I won’t re-hash it. Romney killed it, it was fun to watch, modern liberalism has been dealt a body blow, and that’s that.
What you may NOT have noticed, though, was that the Left is in full meltdown mode, and it is HYSTERICAL. I usually avoid MSNBC (and all tv news, actually), but after I failed to turn on MSNBC after Gov. Scott Walker won the recall and apparently missed the funniest liberal whining ever, I learned my lesson. I switched over in time to see Rachel Maddow’s crazy fake smile, Chris Matthews and Ed Schultz look like they were about to pass out, and some unknown hipster idiot try to talk taxes with Rudy Giuliani and get his head handed to him. I later discovered, by the way, that the unknown hipster is some dude named Chris Hayes, who doesn’t even pretend not to be a liberal shill. Seriously, how can MSBNC put together a panel consisting of Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, Ed Schultz, Chris Hayes, and Al Sharpton and have the nerve to accuse Fox News of being biased? It’s about as ballsy as the guy who used to sue banks for not giving enough sub-prime loans complaining that banks gave out too many sub-prime loans and tanked the economy.
Anyway, Sara Marie Brenner has a good round-up of the Whiny Liberal Extravaganza, if you want to see how the other side is desperately trying to wish last night away. What’s extra delicious is that the Left thinks Obama should have included MORE class warfare. Personally, I think avoiding it as much as he did was the only smart thing he did last night (just like it was smart for Romney to ignore the 2007 race-baiting video), but hey, President Obama, please DO listen to the liberal commentariat and start ranting about the rich. I’m sure that will work out swimmingly.
Oh well, at least the vice president didn’t blame Obama’s performance on Newt Gingrich.
