Movie Monday: One Giant Leap

65 years ago, Chuck Yeager and the Glamorous Glennis shattered the sound barrier. Earlier today, some 23 miles in the skies over Roswell, New Mexico, Felix Baumgartner was successful in his attempt to follow Chuck Yeager across that barrier… but, he did it without a plane.

As Tam rightly points out, that this whole venture was privately sponsored by an energy drink company and broadcast worldwide on the most-massive form of mass communication ever developed (and also privately owned), is worth noting in and of itself. We’re coming for you, Mars… one capitalist at a time.
