Frankenstorm has been defeated

October 30, 2012 by Julia

. . . kinda.  No electricity or cell phone reception at home, but Starbucks has both.

Now that I have made it through throwing a party and the storm of the century (at least, until the next one), expect a blogging blitz between now and the election.  Well, after I get internet access back at home, that is.

HEY! you didn’t get blowed away after all. The way the news was reporting it, I was expecting the entire north east to be sucked into another dimension complete with Ninjas and Pirates and stuff.

I kind of expected to end up in Oz, but we didn’t even have any trees down in our neighborhood. One probably fell on our power lines somewhere, though. The worst part is no internet. I wonder if they make routers with battery back-up . . .

      • Stuart the Viking says:

Yea, It’s called a battery backup. You just plug your router right into it.

the above was supposed to say “snerk!” to denote it’s toung-in-cheek status, however with trying to format it all fancy somehow it was just not included.

It’s okay, I fully admit that computers are not a component of my geekdom. Also, it turned out that our cable provider is actually down separately from the electric (i.e. we got electric back, but no internet, tv, or phone), so a battery back-up would not have solved the problem anyway. Oh, well.
